Oz has everything you would expect in a Sun Frost bred horse and more. He is a solid 15.1hh and built to last with good bone, a nice big hip, short back, powerful slope to his shoulder and finishes it all off with a gorgeous head with very unique markings. He is stamping his colts with not only his looks but his willingness to please, quick learning ability and true pleasures to be around. Oz has arguably the two greatest crosses in performance horse history on his papers!! His sire; PC Frenchman is a son of the legendary Sun Frost out of the spectacular mare Caseys Charm. This is one special cross that also produced French Flash Hawk or better known as “Bozo”; Kristie Petersons 7-time World Champion Barrel Horse, Five-Time AQHA/APHA/PRCA Barrel Racing Horse of the Year. Equi-stat 1988-2009 top 100 earners: #45 $1,500,000+. This cross has also produced PC Frenchmans Hayday owned by Potter Ranch; LTE $400,000+, a 2015 Top 10 Leading Barrel Sire All Ages/All Divisions, offspring have combined LTE in excess of $3.9million.
The bottom side of Oz’s pedigree is equally as impressive. He is out Frenchmans Mistee; an own daughter of the great Frenchmans Guy – the decades #1 leading living sire with progeny earnings exceeding $10million! Frenchmans Mistee is out of Dash Van Te; a mare that is still owned by Jud Little Ranch who has produced their program some exceptional barrel prospects. Frenchmans Mistee is currently owned by fellow Canadian Breeders; Hagan Performance & Ranch Horses producing outstanding prospects by BF Streakin Merridoc.
Frenchmans Mystique ran his futurity year in 2016 under Dawn Van Hal. We are very proud with how he handled being seasoned, hauled and all the new experiences. He has shown he carries the athletic ability, grittiness, versatility and amazing disposition that Sun Frost horses are known for. In 2017 Oz will continue in training to be a heel horse and then will return to the barrel pen for his derby year in 2018.
Watch for Oz’s first foal crop hitting the barrel pen in 2019!
