SIDEPOT RULES
It is the responsibility of every sidepot enrollee and competitor to read and understand the rules prior to purchasing/renting a sidepot enrollment. Not understanding/misunderstanding or following rules, missed deadlines or any event causing an issue may result in purchased sidepot(s) becoming void.

SIDEPOT FORMAT

  • Only WF enrolled offspring are eligible to compete.
  • 100% payout.
  • Equal payout in 4 divisions with a ½ second split.
  • Winners determined by the fastest time run in the 2 long go-rounds at the:
    ABRA Finals-cancelled
    MBRA Finals
    SBRA Finals
    3 long go-rounds at the:
    BCBRA Finals.
  • The payout starts with the fastest WF enrolled horse with subsequent placings to follow.
  • Knocked barrels or broken patterns will NOT be paid.
  • Rounds of Fortune sidepot money won WILL NOT count towards Hi-Pt awards.
  • There are no BREEDER or STALLION kickbacks at Rounds of Fortune sidepot races.
  • RESULTS will be REPORTED to EQUI-STAT and QDATA.

SIDEPOT ENROLLMENTS

  • Limited to 100 sidepot enrollments per event and can be purchased by an individual(s) or business. (Must be 18 years or older to enroll and own a sidepot).
  • There is no limit on the number of sidepot enrollments a person/business/group can own.
  • You must include your name &/or name of company that is purchasing the sidepot enrollment(s). You will need to specify the number of sidepot enrollments you wish to purchase and for which event.
  • The purchaser will own the sidepot enrollment in the coming years, and renewal will be due annually (January 15th). If you do not renew your sidepot enrollment it will go up for sale.
  • On February 16th @ 8:00 am Mountain Time Zone (MT) in Alberta, Canada all remaining sidepot enrollments will be available to people who are on the waitlist in the order that the waitlist request was received and then to the public in the order that the email to purchase was received.
  • The sidepot enrollee can lease/rent/gift/sponsor/split their sidepot enrollment at their own discretion. All transactions are between the sidepot enrollee and the participant.
  • 100% payout to sidepot enrollee ONLY. If the sidepot enrollee is leasing their spot, any payment of winnings to the lessee must be made between the sidepot enrollee and lessee.
  • Western Fortunes reserves the right to increase the total number of sidepot enrollments or fees. The public will be notified of this decision.
  • If 9 or less sidepot enrollments are sold, the Rounds of Fortune sidepot will be canceled for that event. Western Fortunes will refund all entry fees including the administration fee before the start of the event. Ample notice will be given should this occur.
  • Horses must be named no later than 7:00 a.m. Mountain Time (MT) in Alberta, Canada, on the day the first long go-round begins. (The ABRA will be at the start of Group A) Name of rider and a copy of the front and back of registration papers in a JPEG or PDF format must be submitted online through the WF website. There will be no changes to the horse or rider after their names have been submitted.
  • Western Fortunes reserves the right to revoke a sidepot enrollment at its discretion.
  • There is no cap on the number of horses a contestant can run; however, two contestants cannot compete on the same horse.
  • There are NO VET OUTS or MEDICALS RELEASES for the Rounds of Fortune sidepot race.
  • Sidepot enrollments CANNOT be transferred from one event to another as these are separate events.

ANNUAL SIDEPOT ENROLLMENT PAYMENT SCHEDULE
$1,500.00 Enrollment Fee + $105.00 Administration Fee = $1,605.00
$1,500.00 (100%) is added to the Rounds of Fortune sidepot.
$105.00 administration fee distribution: The WF office, Hi-Pt cash awards and GST. A receipt will be emailed after fees have been paid in full.

Annual Sidepot Enrollment Payment Options:

  • January 15th $1,605.00 + completed Rounds of Fortune sidepot form.

OR

  • January 15th – $855.00 + completed Rounds of Fortune sidepot form and February 15th – $750.00

  • PayPal (a 6% transaction fee will be applied)
  • If any enrollments remain available, the enrollee must pay the full fee ($1,605.00) at the time of purchase. Ownership of the enrollment will not be granted until payment has been received.
  • Sidepot enrollees who do not follow the above payment schedule will forfeit their enrollment. Any fees already paid will NOT be reimbursed. If payment schedule is not followed, sidepot enrollments will be released to the public. All monies paid will be retained by Western Fortunes. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any money retained from released sidepot enrollment will be added to the Rounds of Fortune race.

SIDEPOT PAYOUT
$1,500.00 enrollment fee ~ 100% payback ~ 100 sidepot enrollments sold = $150,000.00.
Rounds of Fortune sidepot will have an equal payout in 4 divisions with a ½ second split.
100 sidepot enrollments ~ 5 placings ~ equal payout per division.
Payout per division ~ $37,500.00.
1st (30%) $11,250.00
2nd (25%) $9,375.00
3rd (20%) $7,500.00
4th (15%) $5,625.00
5th (10%) $3,750.00

  • If no offspring fall into a particular division, the payout for that division will be divided equally between the remaining divisions.
  • If only one offspring place in a division, that horse shall receive the entire payout for that division.
  • If only two offspring place in a division, the money split will be: 54%, 46%.
  • If only three offspring place in a division, the money split will be: 40%, 33%, 27%.
  • If only four offspring place in a division, the money split will be: 35%, 28%, 22%, 15%.
  • Should a tie occur, the monies between those places will be added together and divided equally among the tied contestants.
  • If two contestants tie for last place the money for that placing will be divided equally among the tied contestants.
  • Knocked barrels or broken patterns will NOT be paid.

If all the sidepot enrollments are not sold, the payout and number of placings in each division will be adjusted accordingly. Money will remain equal in all divisions. If 9 or less sidepot enrollments are sold, the Rounds of Fortune sidepot will be canceled for that event.
10-20 sidepot enrollments – pay 1st in each division.
21-40 sidepot enrollments – pay 1st, 2nd in each division.
41-60 sidepot enrollments – pay 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each division.
61-80 sidepot enrollments – pay 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th in each division.
81-100 sidepot enrollments – pay 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th in each division.

Sidepot Example Payouts:
10 sidepot enrollments x $1,500 = $15,000/4 divisions = $3,750-1st $3,750 (100%).
20 sidepot enrollments x $1,500 = $30,000/4 divisions = $7,500-1st $7,500 (100%).
40 sidepot enrollments x $1,500 = $60,000/4 divisions = $15,000-1st $8,100 (54%), 2nd $6,900 (46%).
60 sidepot enrollments x $1,500 = $90,000/4 divisions = $22,500-1st $9,000 (40%), 2nd $7,425 (33%), 3rd $6,075 (27%).
80 sidepot enrollments x $1,500 = $120,000/4 divisions = $30,000-1st $10,500 (35%), 2nd $8,400 (28%), 3rd $6,600 (22%), 4th $4,500 (15%).

SIDEPOT WINNINGS PAYOUT SCHEDULE

  • Payout will be approximately 30 days after the event has ended by the payment option checked on the entry form.
  • Western Fortunes is not responsible for any lost/stollen etransfer and will not reissue payout.
  • If a cheque is lost or not delivered to the sidepot enrollee, Western Fortunes will reissue the cheque within one month of the original issue date less $60.00 to cover the stop payment of the original cheque. This is a ONE-TIME reissue. Cheques will not be reissued after the one month grace period. NO EXCEPTIONS. All cheques not cashed after six months of being issued will be void. Money will be forfeited by the sidepot slot owner and added to future Rounds of Fortune sidepot payouts for that event.
